We are currently going through the process of purchasing a property. The property has previously been remortgaged using this company. Whoever dealt with this at the time didnt deal with land registry properly causing massive delays. We had our offer accepted over 3 months ago and nothing has been done by Hugh James causing massive costly and unnecessary delays. Avoid

I used Hugh James as a Conveyancer. It is a very poor service that costs you time and money. The customer experience is handled through a portal, which has zero useful information on it. Hugh James will not email you to give you an indication of the status of your case. If Hugh James wants something from you, they'll send you an empty email, with attachments added where you need to interpret what it is they want. Or they'll send you a document in the post, without a cover letter. They will not answer the phone. They indicate in their hold music that they will not provide you any information over the phone except that which is available in the portal, which is zero. After a LOT of costly delays, my completion date was finally set, but I was not informed of this date until 4pm the day before. This left me scrambling to process the transaction with no notice. Now that the completion has happened, I have received zero documentation about the details of my new mortgage leasehold agreement. I wonder if I even legally own the property. If you have the choice, DO NOT use this organisation.
