This is a really great place to visit and is an intriguing and enchanting woodland situated on the edge of The Forest of The Dean and Coleford, Gloucestershire. The site is of a decent size and before you enter the woodland you can a look a nice of array of animals that are on site such as Pygmy Goats, Soay Sheep, Highland Cattle, Chickens, Runner Ducks and Donkeys all of which are well looked after and are in spacious enclosures. There are also some interesting and informative information boards about each of the farm animals detailing some interesting facts about each farm animal. The woodland is out of this world and there are some rock features amongst the trees called Scowles and they are absolutely stunning and spectacular to look at. From the stunning and quirky scenery you can easily see why it has been a filming location for Star Wars and the BBC Series Merlin. Visitors can pick up a wizard trail guide paper from the cafe and makes for fun and interactive exercise to complete as you go around the woodland spotting and ticking off features like the Elephant, Rhino, Alligator, Crocodile, Balancing Beam, Stepping Stones, High and Low Bridges along with The Magic Door. All of these features blend in beautifully with the woodland adding some character to it and a spectacular backdrop to it. There are some excellent facilities on site such as cafe and a small gift shop with a small selection of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one both children and adults a like will love.
