Update, came back in April 2023 and still really good. Accommodated nine starving cyclists and managed to fit us in for a quick coffee and cake! Thanks very much!

When they opened the whole place smelt as the truck was pumping out their drains or sewage. The lorry pipe right across the outside area. The door to the outside area open to allow the stench inside! 3 out of four loos were out of order which hints to the problem. The chef was on his hands and knees looking down the drain hole in his chef whites with buckets of water being splashed down, before coming straight to cook food in the kitchen! Yuk. We asked for the table to be wiped and were told it wasnt dirty - despite being covered in sugar when we sat down - as it was not varnished so would feel sticky to the touch Our party of six was given a table for four and no extra chairs which we took from a table next door.
The food was super disappointing. Firstly the kids are offered kids apple juice which is 10% apple juice and full of chemicals- despite the restaurant having 100% apple juice in cartons behind the counter. Why?! The only starter we ordered had undercooked chicken which they kindly redid. Then the Caesar salad was the worst. Old salad with each cut brown, the croutons were awful, 100% from the day before and the chicken undercooked again. I had wanted to try other things, but didnt trust the kitchen to cook them properly. The main chef was in the bar area at times during service watching the rugby so clearly was not so focused.
Outside there are dining tables a few feet away from a line of the industrial sized bins.
Honestly the whole place could have been wonderful if the standards were high. Sadly today they were not even close to average. I will never be back.
