I booked a table for 9 people on line and was given a booking reference number. One hour after booking on line I received a phone call from a member of staff stating that they would have to cancel the booking as they couldn't fit us in. Quite simply, DO NOT believe you have a reservation if you book on line, you are likely to receive a call saying that they will not or cannot honour the booking.

Last night went for gals night out with meal at zizzi Colchester. Would recommend avoiding any food that's not pizza. The sea bass was poorly presented (v messy, looked like someone else had started eating it) the veg and chips were soggy and cold. My friend's bruscetta was hilarious. Soggy stale bread slices in bottom of bowl, with a heap of plum tomatoes on top cut in half. A dab of pesto. It was so bad it was funny. When questioned the waitress said that's the new way of doing it ! A 10 year old would've done better job! Breaded Chicken was reformed chicken in golden breadcrumbs. Flat, tasteless. The pizzas were fine The olives were fine No cutlery for a while Glasses not v clean Felt v sorry for waiting staff rushed off feet and serving embarrassing food. They did take a lot of money off final bill as 4/7 people didn't eat their meals as too gross. Apparently one chef was ill. Which is a good reason. But the menu is too busy Head office need to simplify, have less things on menu. Might be more manageable even when someone is off sick. Last time I was there 7 years ago there were issues with the sewage and it smelt bad. There were not enough waiting staff then. I was told anecdotally that it had got much better. This time there were waiting staff and toilets were fine but the food terrible (apart from pizza) None of us will ever go back
