There have been stock issues but I think the staff have always done their best to help, they certainly have for me and their pharmacist Ali can't do enough for you and always finds time to talk and sort things out. My partner picks my medicine up and trust me my GP prescription people are bad enough...there have only been issues with stock like I said but they can't help that.

Second visit in a month . Chaotic ! First time didn't have the medication I needed and I was told it was a supplier issue. Went into a pharmacy in town who filled prescription and told me they all used the same supplier!!!. I was followed by all the people who had been told the same at Castlegate Second visit, after being told my prescription would be at Boots after 3.30pm(it wasnt) I also checked Allinsons I went up to Castlegate Pharmacy. Couldn't find my prescription and when they did still took a long time to sort out. Much of it waiting for pharmacist to come off phone and check I will never use this pharmacy through choice as it takes at least 3 times as long as anywhere else and always seems to be in chaos Also doesn't help when staff don't acknowledge your presence, a look up and a smile would go a long way even when they are on the phone Shame as let's down the great service the docs, nurses etc give

This is a real stretch awarding one star. Visited here a couple of months ago to pick up my partners prescription. After waiting half a hour in the car I went to see what was wrong. My partner said they can't find the prescription. I then witnessed the staff say to my partner a number of times "you must have had it" - she replied she hadn't. They then claimed "well it must be on the van" so we asked well is it on the van? They couldn't confirm either way. Unbeknown to me there was two other members of staff on their hands and knees looking in a cupboard for it. Another 20 minutes lapsed and one of them stood up shouting she'd found it. They were extremely pleased with themselves - the whole episode lasted nearly a hour. We have been told on numerous occasions that prescriptions were there only to find they're not. They even told me to visit first thing in the morning as the medication will be in. Went first thing only to be told "why have you come this early our deliveries don't come until about 11am." There have been numerous other incidents - too many to recall let alone write about. However, the latest - visited on 28th March and got part prescription as they didn't have the other stuff in. They said they would generate another prescription for the outstanding medication that we could pick up the day after and take to another pharmacy. We went two days later at a very quiet period (8pm) - they couldn't find the prescription so claimed it must've been left at reception which was closed. They then sent out an email to all the staff so asked us to take a seat. I left my partner there and went off, ordered and received takeaway food. When I returned my partner was still there waiting for a response. One of them eventually replied saying she'd put the prescription in one of the boxes - they still couldn't find it. We naturally asked so where is it - the reply, "it must be in one of the other boxes". We then asked "so is it lost" reply "no, we just can't find it" our reply "is that not the definition of lost then" reply "no." The staff member then said our colleague said it was in this box but it's not there and we can't find it - pretty lost to me. They claimed they had a number of boxes so I asked if they were numbered or identified in any way - reply was no and it wasn't up to them to come up with an identification system. My partner goes another few days without her medication and starts every day in tears. There was going to be a claim that they didn't appreciate how I was speaking to them - I said I'm not being rude, I'm not shouting, I'm not swearing but I am asking questions about a lost prescription - the reply yet again was "it's not lost but we have had teething problems". Forgive my ignorance but I thought teething problems were for infantile companies not establishments that have been running for years. Reading other reviews - unfortunately we're not alone. This place is in total chaos and seemingly getting worse by the day. Unfortunately, we can't bypass this place as the GP's send the scripts to this pharmacy. If you request them to be sent elsewhere this pharmacy is supposed to do that but they take an absolute eternity to do so. Our only solution is to switch GP's to avoid this place. I'm yet to meet anyone who has a good word for the place. Oh, finally - they called me in to have a blood pressure monitor fitted, said they'd gave it a good clean and put it on my arm.Had to leave work to get it fitted only to find they hadn't even charged it and it didn't take one single reading all the time I had it. Surely, that's a basic to expect - the thing to be charged up. Sorry but pathetic isn't too strong of a word for this place. I hope someone in authority reads this as I am more than happy to discuss our experiences with them.
