The Manor House Hotel Cockermouth

We stayed for 3 nights as a large group of walkers. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was brought forward to enable the group to get out early. The food was excellent and plentiful. Nice fresh fruit at breakfast together with a quality cooked breakfast with a choice of options. Our evening meal was very good indeed, lots of vegetables and very tasty options. The dessert surprise was delicious. Rooms were very good and very clean and comfortable. One evening we couldn't finish our bottle of wine. It was chilled for us and put in our room for when we returned the next day in a cooler with two glasses. I lovely kind touch to our stay which was much appreciated. Thank you very much for a great stay. Food & drinks: Food was excellent.

On arrival we were met by a lovely lady at reception and given our room card. The decor and furnishings were perfect for the architecture of the building. After a few hours in the town we came back for drinks and hosted by a polite and well turned out barman before retiring to our room which was spot on for an overnight stay. We freshened up in the modern bathroom and enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was exceptional and full of variety. The two ladies who waited on us were also exceptional. I am always happy to point out flaws when giving reviews but on this occasion it's a massive 10/10
