Castlegate And Derwent Surgery

We were in the area on holiday and my daughter needed an emergency prescription for antibiotics. We tried 111 and they told us to try a pharmacy, who said they couldnt help. So I called Castlegate surgery and a lovely female doctor called me back (Dr Phillips?). She spoke to my daughter and then issued the prescription, which was ready to collect in under an hour. Very impressed with the service and wish our local surgery were so friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you!

Always had a great experience with this surgery. I work in the NHS so understand the demands of the service; whenever I need an appointment I am offered one with a GP, usually on the same day. Prescriptions are easily communicated to the local pharmacy. GPs are efficient with blood tests/ results and contact me promptly with the results when required.

Almost impossible to get a appointment, every time you call you are on the phone for about 5 minutes before you even get put in the queue, you then queue for up to 30 minutes just to be told to ring back in the morning as all bookings are taken even though you aren't in a rush and don't mind when they see you.

What more could you possibly want from a local GP. Friendly staff, clean and offering every service you can imaging 10/10
