I like the Ivy chain. This was our first visit to the Chobham branch.Their strong points are the smart and professional service and striking decors. We requested and got a table in the conservatory, much the nicest part during the day. Other areas I think would be a bit claustrophobic by day tho cosy at night. A table for 2 only gets 1.5 hours for a meal and it was 15 minutes before our food order was taken, then a bit of a wait for the food. We enjoyed our mains but felt too rushed to wait again to order and get puds and coffee.

Went for breakfast, food was cold, bacon was tasteless, the eggs had been salted so much it was overbearing, the coffee was miniature, for the price, you really are paying for the setting, which seems small, and quite cramped, however waitress was very pleasant. First time to the Ivy Cobham, probably won't return, as there's better value for money in the other restaurant options in the high St.

This morning we visited (6 person) 2 of which were children 10 and 8. It was the childrens first visit to the Ivy, how disappointed were we when st 10.30 they had run out of pancakes, the 8 year old was so disappointed as she had been looking forward to eating her favourite breakfast in a grown up restaurant Having visited numerous Ivy restaurants I found this to be bewildering, that a restaurant of this stature is unable to make a batch of pancake mix!! Our food was lovely and the staff fabulous but we did have a very unhappy 8 year old who reluctantly had pastries. I know the Ivy is better than this. Parking: Could be better but you are very short of space

We booked a table to take my mum for a cream tea for her birthday. Three lovely warm scones with jam and cream and we opted for a glass of champagne too. We were also given a choice of various teas or coffee. My mum had a lovely surprise when our waitress appeared with a chocolate profiterole with a candle. We hadn't been expecting that. A lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend. ** Parking: There is a small restaurant carpark but it was full. However, we were able to drop my mum off and then go to the nearest public carpark which is only a few minutes walk away.
