Mum moved into Sandbanks in September and she tells us that the nursing staff and welfare team are, in her own words, **brilliant**. We obviously aren't able to visit her in these uncertain times but the family have regular facetimes with her and we can see how content she is being there. This is really reassuring for all of us and we can't thank them enough for the excellent care and thoughtfulness given to her.

Good staff on the units, probably care - who can tell really when we couldn't visit despite the posters on the front doors saying 'Garden Visits' are allowed for 3 months? Well, see below. Other positive is being a modern purpose built facility. Terrible communication from the (new) management team who were dismissive and overbearing; concerns expressed to other external parties about this (CQC, LGSCO, local NHS Mental Health Team). An example of their 'good practice' and compassion was my relative was transferred to hospital (permanently) in a state of high anxiety _without_ her strong prescription glasses - rendering her blind effectively; it must have been terrifying. Called to discuss the matter with the manager, no answer, no voicemail...then cut off. Another is In the previous week she'd been assaulted by one of the extra care staff that Sand Banks 'Care' Centre had insisted upon at extra private cost; they were having regular staffing issues at the time it seemed. After my relative had being taken to hospital, one of the managers invited/suggest I collect personal items: told it had already been done....where I found the two pairs of glasses. It took me a couple of weeks to realise - and ask the hospital - that these were the only pairs: surely SBCC would have.....? Nope. Another visit and chance to spread Covid-19 to a hospital then! I suggest a new slogan for the company: "Professionalism. Redefined"
