Cheshire was a nice course in good condition. Pity the nicklaus course was closed on my stay as would love to have played it .

Both golf courses at Carden Park are great, with interesting holes, good design and usually in great condition. However, I've played both courses a number of times (usually at the weekend which might be the issue) and the courses are usually very slow. On one occasion, there were marshalls on buggies updating groups about the slow pace of groups in-front (which was good service) however the round was still well over 5+ hours, so didn't seem to make much difference on the total time. On another occasion though, the course was so slow that I got to about the 13th / 14th (after 4.5ish hours) on the Cheshire course and just walked off. Great course, fair price for the quality but incredibly slow - plan for being out on the course for at least 5 hours.
