A great place if you love the countryside and just want peace and quiet. No mobile phone signal and if you want the internet, you have go outside to a small converted old fashioned railway hut in the grounds where there is a Wi-Fi connection. The lane and surrounding roads are mainly very narrow single lane use with passing points every now and again (expect to have to reverse at times and don't drive fast!). Our barn was very comfortable if a little dark (due to it being a grade two listed building so only a few narrow windows) but no problem with the lights on. The upstairs floors creak so getting up in the night can be a little noisy but again, no real problem. Parking is good. There is no shop in the local village so if you need anything you will have to go the four or so miles Knighton (being the nearest small town). There are a couple of pubs in Bucknell about a mile and a half away but one is currently closed and looks like it being refurbished. The village church has a coffee morning on Wednesday where you can get great tea or coffee and a selection of lovely home made cakes (you make a suggested donation but well worth it). The money goes to the church funds and other local good deeds. Overall, well reccomended.
