One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Delicious set menu of five courses for 50 cooked with flair and ingenuity, each a delight. Brilliant two-woman enterprise. Get there quickly.

I guess, despite the low score, this review will be welcomed by the restaurant as it may help with their booking policy? If even just one of your party member is suddenly sick the night you have to dine in crs, expect an expensive charge. They will strongly insist, even saying "this is not our fault, is the missing person's fault". One would expect a "private jet" service in a place with such good reviews and badges, but then no, you're given "WizzAir" or "Ryanair" kind of smallprint charges. The food was actually above Wheterspoon quality, so despite the lack of elegance I felt one star was too harsh. Suggestion to the manager: the charge for missing people, in more elegant places, is a protection mechanism in case someone books for many people and turns up with far less, or doesn't turn up at all. In organised restaurants, this is not because you have to "prepare the ingredients", as you say, but because missing people may hold a profitable seat from other customers. The night I had dinner in crs, my party filled your otherwise absolutely empty restaurant. Given my sick friend didn't "steal" the seat to anyone, your brazen request for a charge really sounded desperate. An efficient restaurant knows how to manage their supplies, and the premium price you ask your customers should cover the extra logistic or unforeseen circumstances too. Anyway, a good restaurant is not only about good food, but also care for your customers. Punishing a group because one person is sick, applying a rule blindly and sternly, is what I'd expect from a machine, not a caring host.

We enjoyed the late summer tasting menu with a special mention to the buckwheat crepe and the veal. Excellent choices for the wine taken by glass. Friendly service. The lack of a 'wow' factor doesn't go well with the price tag.

French restaurant with a set menu in Stoke Newington. Seats about 20 people so has a lovely atmosphere. All five courses were tasty and pleasantly portioned. Staff were friendly and chatty (if you start the conversation). We celebrated our anniversary so I would definitely recommend for a special occasion
