This is my local optician and I've had an eye test done here before. No complaint. Today I went to drop off my contact lens packaging for recycling. They are one of Acuvue and terracycle's partner opticians who has offered to collect these hard to recycle material for recycling. I was told I'm not a contact lens customer with them and was asked to pay 5 to use the recycling service which is ridiculous because Acuvue has made clear that the programme is funded by them and there is no cost to individual customers to use the recycling scheme. I had no issue dropping them off at a Boots optician in central London. I am not sure what to make of this other than a hunger for money.
