Rose Barn Holiday Cottage

Just off for our second visit to rose barn and realised we hadn't done a review after our last visit! Had a brilliant weekend last time, Sharon, Dan and the girls were fantastic hosts. So knowledgeable about the area, nothing too much trouble, clean and comfortable barn and near a pub. What more could you want! Looking forward to another fabulous weekend.

Well, have just returned from a weekend with friends at Rose Barn and my review from two years ago still stands! This is a gorgeous cottage, cosy, welcoming and warm. It is tastefully furnished, has a great, sociable lounge, a well-equipped kitchen (including plastic Champagne flutes for drinks in the hot tub!) super comfy bed and 5-star bathroom. Lots of thoughtful touches from hosts Dan and Sharon (including a hamper with lots of locally-sourced) goodies. Location great - I'd recommend a walk on Askham Fell and spending some time on Ullswater. And don't forget a cycle (on electric bikes) from Arragons Cycle Hire at Lowther Castle. And, whatever you do, you can cool off (and warm up) in the hot tub. A fabulous bolt hole. Enjoy!
