CB and Amateur Radio Repairs

Delivered my Lowe communications receiver for repair. I was contacted to say that a synthesizer chip had failed and that they could not be obtained anywhere worldwide. After questioning, he provided the part number. I was then asked whether I wanted my radio back , which of course I did. When I got it back I quickly managed to source the chip that was "unobtainable" for 1. I then took the set to another repairer who found that there was nothing wrong with the synthesizer chip and in fact it was a coil and a capacitor which had failed. This chap charged me roughly the same for the repair as the previous chap charged me for a misdiagnosis. Not to be recommended !

Awful.Gave Mr Parker a multimode 3 times to fix.Cost over 300 came back worse.Very arrogant.After the second time he could not see the sense of testing it with another CB to see if it worked (said his test equipment was sufficient) before he returned it.It is now just an ornament. If you do reply Nick, easily remedied..either give me my money back or do the job you were paid for.Stalker 9..remember? I'm sure he must have done good work elsewhere but not in my case.
