Westbrook Court Country House - (9 bedrooms sleeps up to 24)

We booked Westbrook House for a family celebration as it offered all the practical elements we were looking for as well as being beautifully presented and in a stunning location. We were not disappointed - the house and grounds really are as beautiful as they look in the photographs as well as being fully equipped with everything you could want for a family weekend. The house itself is warm and welcoming, managing to be spacious and cosy at the same time. The annex is also warm, comfortable and stylish and every member of our party was more than happy with their accomodation. The children enjoyed watching the sheep being fed and the outdoor games room provided lots of fun! The enormous, well equipped kitchen was perfect for preparing a celebration dinner; eating it together in the stunning dining room was the icing on the cake. Our party of seventeen ranged in age from two and a half to eighty nine and everyone's needs were well met. Westbrook Court Country House was all we had hoped for and much more and we are already planning our next visit!

What a venue! Westbrook Court will fit the bill for any large gathering. We had a party of 16-18 for the weekend, celebrating a 40th Birthday in late March. Everyone was comfortable and able to share the space with ease. It really ticked all the boxes for us. Our party was entirely adults, so the 9 king sized bedrooms were perfect for us. The venue offers cots and other beds, if children were to come along. Before we arrived, the line of communication with the host was excellent, and remained so throughout our stay, where we had questions. The venue packs, of instructions to do with the house, are emailed over prior to arrival, and although dense, have all the information you need. The photos simply don't give you the full sense of how comfortable a stay in house and the 5x individual 'Stables' is. The converted stable rooms are stunning, and the rooms within the house itself are nicely decorated and well laid out. Everyone reported the beds as comfortable throughout. The venue sits within a working farm environment, but at no point do you really register this. At night it is very quiet (except maybe for us in the dining hall) and in the morning, you get the birds chirping and rabbits hopping in the garden. Our group essentially lived in the kitchen and incredible dining hall for 2 days, 3 nights. We got lucky with the weather, so some of our party went for runs/walks or popped into Hay-On-Wye proper. I, myself, rarely migrated further than to the sofa, to the dining hall, to the hot-tub. Stopping only to refill my glass. We all, would stay at Westbrook again, whether for the weekend or for longer next time. Thanks for having us.
