As you will see we have had excellent reviews over many years for our Gold Award property which has consistently achieved a score of five for cleanliness. We had a rare issue on the date that Mr Russell arrived and are very sorry that the property had not been cleaned thoroughly. The feedback is very valuable and we are delighted that this customer feels he would like to return despite our evident slip up. Sorry again.

This review is for the Barn rental - enjoyable but far from perfect. We were a group of 6 in two families and stayed for a few nights, mid week in October. The owner let us arrive early for the check in which was much appreciated. The property and location are very attractive, and suited our group. The approach to the barn is lined with a score or more of different varieties of apple, pear and plum, no doubt all part of the conservation work here, and in itself a good reason to stay. The internal layout was fine, although we never used the upstairs lounge preferring to gather round the kitchen table and play games. It is next to a very busy road, and whilst you cant see the traffic, the noise is very intrusive when sitting outside, and not at all relaxing. On the other hand, it is well located for easily exploring the area. The property had not been cleaned well. The kitchen bins were not emptied, we had to clean all the crockery and glasses before using them, and the oven trays were swimming in fat. If guests dont clean properly then the host has to we know, we used to do it. The carpets were not clean the last inch around the skirting didnt look as if it had been cleaned in weeks. There were many dead spiders and webs just left in the corners of the rooms. Its in the countryside and we expect nature to come in, but it should start clean. The beds are in need of new mattresses as they no longer offer support, and you are rolled into the centre of the mattress. I was the unlucky one who had the duvet in which all the fibres had now clumped together, but the other duvets were good. We were a little surprised that we had no contact at all with the owner, as we would have expected at least a call or a message to check that all was okay on our arrival- We would stay again, and we do recommend it just be aware of its limitations.
