It's interesting to see that reviews for Mirage are either 5 stars or 1 star. Until my most recent experience I probably would have given them 5 stars as well - but not this time. They are fine as long as everything goes to plan but as soon as something goes wrong they appear to have no concept of customer service, care or support. In my case I took in a pair of specialist frames to have lenses fitted. In the process they warped the frames so that they were no longer fit for purpose. We went through months of them pretending they were looking into the problem before I asked for a refund for the lenses. I agreed to absorb the cost of the frames myself. Mr Patel told me the frames had a design fault (complete nonsense) and in no uncertain terms that he wouldn't provide a refund. I eventually got a refund from my credit card company and they also awarded me compensation for the ruined frames. My husband and I have been customers of Mirage for many years. We have spent thousands on tests and glasses there. Neither of us will ever go there again. I don't know whether my refund would have resulted in a chargeback on Mirage. Whether they had to pay out for the refund or not they have lost all of our custom now. It surely would have been better for their business to have refunded me 320 for the lenses in the first place. That might have resulted in a different review...

Excellent service, the most thorough eye examination in my many years of wearing glasses. Clear and helpful explanations and optician made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. I prefer a more personal service from an independent optician and thats what I got. Highly recommend.

I've been with Mirage for many years - the care here is excellent. The check ups are extremely thorough and explanations always very clear.

My experience for an eye health checkup and contact lens checkup went above and beyond my expectations and previous experiences at other opticians over the 30 years I have been seeing opticians (in multiple locations and countries). It is quite clear Mr Patel has a real passion for what he does, and does his utmost to take the best possible care of his patients, and all with a very personable manner. He explained everything very clearly, and I felt I was in very capable and trustworthy hands. Thoroughly recommended!
