It is a shame it is a dead end. Hopefully the England Coastal Path will allow it be extended

As for coastal paths this is an epic walk. Starting from the Clevedon Marina having pried on the main road and the route takes you along the Clevedon promenade, with views of the Clevedon Pier before actually passing the entrance. Many options of Cafes across from the promenade. We opted to continue along the National Trust coastal path to Portishead. A total of 11km so a round trip walk of 22.5km. We continued on to the Portishead Lido cafe, the shoreline path gave views of the Severn Crossing with tugs and fishing boats sailing along past the numerous fishermen hoping to catch the cod or flat fish during high tides twice a day. An optional stop off for a drink and lunch is the Windmill. Wonderful views across to Wales and Abergavenny hill. The walk is popular with many dog walkers, joggers and those who love the outdoors. A must do walk regardless of time of year but due to the other being quite narrow in places a dry day would be recommended.

I walked all the way from Clevedon Bandstand (of which a painting was done by Cornish abstract painter Peter Lanyon in 1960s} to Portishead Beach. Unfortunately I had 3 frustrating things happen! First off I couldn't get a place to sit at my favourite cafe 5 the beach as it was full to the brim and bloomin good for them! I couldn't get onto the coastal path at Clevedon as repairs are underway but got given good advice by two lovely ladies on beautiful horses and went across a public path into the golf course and woods where I eventually found my way along the coastal path to Portishead sea cave. Absolutely stunning walk and worth every minute. But... I was looking forward to lunch at the Windmill pub Portishead and when I got there It'd had to shut unexpectedly due to burst water pipe. So disappointed I trudged on to the fantastic Impero Lounge and was very well served by the staff there. I enjoyed sitting watching the storm holding a well deserved cup of coffee.
