My experience of 6 Ashes Livery has certainly not been positive. Echoing the previous reviews from other customers which outline the poor management and general neglect of the yard, unfortunately these issues have never been addressed and the yard continues to be a dumping ground for rubbish and general waste. The website states that it is a family run yard which unfortunately translates into the 'manager's' young child and toddler running around on the yard unsupervised and causing hazards for liveries with their go carts and bikes. The website also promises other delights such as excellent hacking (busy and dangerous main roads and very few routes), pride in the care of horses (couldn't be further from the truth) and team outings to showjumping competitions (never happened!), This, together with the extremely unpleasant atmosphere, horrible bullying and sheer unprofessionalism of the 'manager' who runs liveries down to other liveries, discussing her gripes with them, makes for a very expensive way to be unhappy with your horse. Avoid at all costs!

Lovely yard with good facilities. Kelly is a great manager who will not stand for bullying and deals with it promptly leaving bullies who are asked to leave pretty sour so it seems (:

Six Ashes Livery yard is a really friendly yard. Kelly has always accommodated my needs and her knowledge is outstanding. She has in the past been so helpful. I am no longer at Six Ashes but I wouldnt hesitate in returning. Recently there have been reviews left which have been unfair and issues raised never were issues until these people were asked to leave the yard. It is a relaxing place and grazing is great. Do not hesitate to contact Kelly she will always answer questions promptly and is always professional.

The yard "manager" is very unprofessional ( a lack of management and professional attitude ) and the "family friendly" environment is regrettably an euphemism for children and dogs running riot unsupervised. The website advertieses great hacking, yard outings to competitions and part livery if arranged before you arrive- the hacking is brilliant if you like riding up busy mainroads and the outings are so good they've happened twice in the 3 1/2 years I've been there. The part livery is just a plea to get you there. If by some miracle it happens, it will last all of a month before she drafts in other liveries to do it for her. The turnout is terrible here as all the fields turn into flooded swamps through the winter and are not maintained during the spring/summer, the arena is hardly ever leveled and the place is falling apart. Dirty nappies from the yard "managers" children are left unbagged in a communal open bin, litter and piled rubbish all over the place and a kitchen that is a health hazard. Please, avoid this yard if you want to enjoy your horses in a calm and tranquil space.

My horse has never been happier!! Ive been at this yard for more than 10 years now and all I can say is that I would never move! The yard manager is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable as she has many equine related qualifications at degree and master levels. She is the best for advice and really encouraging if Ive ever needed help with my horses and my riding. The manager is also very accommodating and will help out where possible and if there are any issues they are sorted almost immediately. An example of this is when selfish liveries (that have now been removed from the yard) would leave my horse out by himself as I was at work which left him unsettled and stressed. She immediately contacted me and sorted him out ensuring he was uninjured and calmed down. After this incident she allowed me to move fields where he would always have company if I was not there. Another example is that because I work long unsocial hours and weekends if I ever need to put him on part livery for a few days she is more than happy to do so.
