Mr Gaurav was my nose surgeon but unfortunately has no appreciation for doing an aesthetically good job. I had broken the bridge of my nose and Dr Gaurav Kumar started consulting me in 2017. I was assured I would not be left with a protruding nose. I had the septoplasty in 2018 and during surgery, Dr Gaurav Kumar decided to make my nostrils larger. This was not discussed beforehand, and in my opinion, was totally unnecessary. After the surgery when I enquired the rationale for this, Dr Gaurav Kumar said it was to help me breathe better. But I never had a problem with breathing through my original shaped nostrils. When Dr Gaurav Kumar saw I upset I was, he referred me to Dr Krishnendu Nandy, a psychiatrist, with the view that I need to change my mindset. When my mindset remained unaltered Dr Gaurav Kumar had the audacity to tell me that as he's not a cosmetic surgeon, aesthetics does not form part of his priorities. If I feel discontent I should go and see a cosmetic surgeon. To me this was a poor response especially when Dr Gaurav Kumar altered what was was not required. I have over time tried to get over what Dr Gaurav Kumar had done but it is difficult especially when I have see my nose every day in the mirror. I believe any potential patient should be aware of my experience so an informed decision can be made as to whether Dr Gaurav Kumar is the right surgeon for them. In my opinion, for any professional to be at the top of their game and get 5 stars they need to be able to go beyond the bare minimum and provide an excellent customer experience.
