The Avoncliff aqueduct Carries the Kennet and Avon canal over the river Avon and the railway line. Built between 1797 and 1801 this three arched aqueduct is a jewel of the English canal network. The grade ll* listed structure is 110 yards long, with a 60 foot wide central Arch and a 34 foot wide arch either side. You can park nearby and it is a lovely walk over to the Cross Guns pub at the other side. When the weather's nice and at weekends it gets very busy.
