Positives: super friendly staff and good breakfast.
Negatives: floor in our room not clean, it was the first thing I noticed upon entering, and seemingly not being regularly cleaned. I wiped in several places including the bathroom even where people do not walk, and it was coming up brown. Yuck, we kept our shoes on throughout. Loo seat hinge either broken or very loose and there was a black mark, chip or scrape on the seat. The nylon-type drape folded across the bottom of the bed was bobbly and there were different hairs stuck in it, long blonde, short black, etc. Easy to sort issues that left us disappointed and feeling not worth the expense.
I called and ultimately ended up leaving a message with a lady on reservations circa 2.15pm on Tues 28th March for someone (Manager) to call back. No call received and she was either not trained to take such calls (I asked if I could leave feedback) and from her tone she was clearly not interested. It was the final nail in the coffin really.
Wouldn't book again, will try the Premier Inn in Saffron Walden next time.
