Endless encouragement from Jill at any age or ability, her main aim is to get her students playing by ear any melody instrument, as a rule we learn in a group to play folk tunes and dance tunes by ear with emphasis on playing from memory if possible. Once they have a couple of tunes under their belts, everyone in her classes is encouraged to play in her "Highly Strung " band for Folkfeet. Her classes are progressive with beginners coming for the first hour then more experienced pupils later, then playing tunes as in a session, main instruments in the groups at present are violin, penny whistle, flute, mandolin, melodeon and dulcimer but any melody instrument is welcomed. Her value for money is unsurpassed, her enthusiasm and patience with the less gifted like myself is extraordinary! Cheers John du Heaume.
