Authentic taste of Brasil with really friendly staff. Very generous with the food, our server kept loading our plates up with loads of meat.

Having been fortunate to visit a number of Fogo de Chao steakhouse across the world I was looking forward to trying the one in my local area. I was reminded how good a Brazilian steak house could be having recently been to the excellent Fazenda in Edinburgh - so with high expectations 4 of us went to Fogo in Clapham - it was not only one of the most disappointing Brazilian Steakhouse visits I've ever been to, but one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. This restaurant seems to be clinging on to life - it had about 4 tables in on a Saturday evening on one of the busiest days in London this year - Clapham was buzzing - Fogos was not. The tables were dirty and sticky, the toilets lacked any loo paper, no hot water, no hand towels and a broken soap dispenser. The buffet food looked like it had been out for the whole day - some of the meat was excellent but we certainly didn't get everything offered on the menu and the one server they had serving the meat was one of the most miserable people I've come across in the hospitality industry. The only saving grace (and hence the 2 stars) were the other waitresses who were pleasant and helpful. This place needs to be put out of it's misery and be closed down - it's an embarrassment to the Brazilian Steakhouse concept - give this a miss and wait for Fazenda to open in London.
