I did antenatal classes from about 18 weeks through to 40 weeks, which is testament to how much I enjoyed the classes. They made me feel great throughout the pregnancy and it feels suitable for all - as I got bigger there were ways to take things easier or ask the instructors to amend exercises if you have any particular aches and pains. The classes focus on cardio and full body strength including pelvic floor. It kept me fit through pregnancy and I really believe it contributed to a speedy recovery from my emergency C section birth. I started Maternally Fit classes when I was 16 weeks pregnant and did both Zoom and in person classes right through to four days before I gave birth. It was important to me to be exercising regularly and doing it safely so these classes were perfect. Helen is a really upbeat and enthusiastic teacher, and the combination of weights, pelvic floor exercises and cardio was great - and modifiable according to different pregnancy stages.
