Spent a two day weekend here at the end of April 2023. We could only get a cosy room , despite booking weeks earlier which shows you how popular the place is. but The hotel decor was very stylish, reminded me very much of the vibe at the Pig hotels which weve stayed at. Our room was cosy( as stated) but had generous storage for our clothes and beams which meant I had to duck a lot. The shower room/ WC was cosy and due to the sloping ceilings I had to bend my neck forwards when brushing my teeth or shaving, also when using the shower the floor around the toilet got soaked, so it was more of a wet room with I assume underfloor heating but couldnt feel any warmth. The Bed was very comfy. I would have liked to have a room safe as I travel with at least a couple of watches and as Im not a rapper , only wear one watch at a time. I still couldnt work out the room light controls after 2 days residence Wi-Fi poor: was unable to download my weekend news paper to my tablet, in the bedroom or public areas. The Food was good tasting , although on the first night my pork was served colder than I liked and they took it back without a fuss ( Our waiter Adam was great ) however when they returned it, it appeared a little over cooked but was very tasty. We ate here two nights, the fish and chips I had on the 2nd night was excellent. Also the cocktails were superb Would have appreciated a wider choice of wines by the glass, but they had.a decent number of whiskies and had my favourite ( Habiki). The staff are very friendly We were lucky during dinner service as the staff then were superb, less lucky at Sunday breakfast when I had to ask for my table to be set , even though the waitress had taken our orders, then after setting the table had to be asked for spoons! Wasnt able to park on site , but that wasnt a real issue as plenty on road parking within a Minutes walk.
