My rather antiquated loo, situated in an attic room had stopped flushing. Chris was about the fourth plumber I called. He was busy. However, having answered the phone straight away, said he could definitely do the job on an appointed day and time. So I booked him. He turned up on the day -- and on the dot. He got straight to work and basically, replaced the entire works --from the inside- without having to disturb the ancient vitreous enamel cistern. Some of the innards were so old, Chris had to use an angle-grinder to remove them. He told me that parts of the mechanism had crumbled pretty much to dust. He even put new screws and washers in the cisterns wall-fixings. He was here for about an hour and a half, and only charged me -- for parts and labour -- an amount which 'certain 24 hour firms' might have charged to even come out and examine the job.
