        This memorial was fenced off for a long time (presumably for safety reasons) but has now been repaired and is looking a lot less forlorn. Its a bit of a shame that it no longer serves its original function and there seems to be no running water. That probably explains the fact that the basins were being used as ad hoc litter bins when I viewed it. This memorial sits on the Grosvenor Estate, which owns huge swathes of real estate in this part of London. Youd think theyd have a few quid to do their ancestor justice.
