When I first fished here, I had some good fishing. Owner and his wife are very friendly, and amiable. Was shocked at lack of rules. Still made for relaxing fishing, but NOT at the expense of the fish! Last outing, I hooked 5, biggest at 12lb, smallest at 3.5lb. So sad to see that 4 of the 5 had terrible mouth deformities! One at 6lb, heaven knows how he cobbled the hook bait, barely any mouth to open! Call me old fashioned, but swinging fish, any fish is not good! Some lovely looking fish, but no care! Of late, it seems to attract an awful lot of East Europeans, they have absolutely no regard for fish care, swinging lumps in! I witnessed one guy, in a group, swing what looked like a Roach or Rudd in, toss it on the grass, because he was obviously disappointed at size but thankfully a young girl in the party to throw it back into the water! They gather in large groups and bang goes the neighbourhood! The noise became so unbearable on my last outing both my son and I at 21.00hrs decided to pack up our bivvy and gear and went home! We had intended being there two day's! To say they have all but ruined a lovely little lake, because of there lack of respect for fish and other angler's would be an understatement! I'm used to fishing various venues, some very strict, some not so strict, but although refreshing and akin to days gone by, with few, if any rules, I despair at the gross negligence of what I've witnessed, and I'm afraid the last visit will be my last, unless Mr Parkes takes responsibility and brings these inconsiderate people to task! Don't take my word for it. Rock up and witness it for yourself! Such a shame.
