Funeral was arranges sensitiveiy and felt I could ask any questions I needed to. I was kept up to date with the progress all the way through. On the day the team were friendly, calm and kept things moving in a timely manner - We had a slight delay due the snow and were kept informed and comfortable all the way through. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Francis Chappell and Sons to those looking for a great, respectful funeral service

Several years ago, Mum arranged a pre-paid funeral plan through Age Concern (as they were called at the time) and was happy with the nominated undertakers Francis Chappell, Bexleyheath. When the time came for the plan to be implemented following her death, the family were touched and impressed in how the cremation service was planned and carried out all very professional. However, praise for this company ends there. Subsequent dealings with Francis Chappell/Dignity Funerals to address mislaid jewellery, reimbursement cheques sent to the wrong address and the whereabouts of my mothers ashes remaining a mystery were met with months of phone calls and emails to try and sort out. Apologies were profuse but action non-existent it took 6 months to get her jewellery returned to the family. My mother died over a year ago and as of November it was confirmed her ashes were actually in a cupboard at the branch (and to date still there as no further communication has been received) and had not been scattered in the Garden of Remembrance at Eltham as requested. Hardly a dignified and respectful farewell. Shameful
