A Believer, ever rising
As a Muslim, I have to pray 5 times throughout the day. I walked in and asked a man if I could use a spare room to pray, and he escorted me to the room and was quite welcoming.

This place is amazing and a great community, I cannot recommend it highly enough. My father has dementia and we were looking for somewhere that I could take him that he could try to re-integrate a bit into the community and to talk to a few people as he was starting to get lonely. As I am primary carer for my toddler, I also had to ask them if we would all be welcome as we tend to come as a package and they replied instantly come one come all! We started at Friday with a CAFE in the Clouds, the ladies there were amazingly welcoming and we felt like this was exactly the place for us. My father came out feeling so happy that hed had a break and really enjoyed the company without feeling threatened and my toddler had put on a show for the ladies there. After our first visit, we had subsequent weekly visits for a couple of months and then unfortunately the ladies took there well earned summer break, so we decided to try Thursdays coffee and lunch... Again, we cannot recommend enough, the welcome that we receive from a different group and a slightly different style of morning with more people involved but again my father felt extremely comfortable and chatted to a few people, there my son played up for everyone and we had great drink and food at an extremely reasonable rate. After visits there for the first time in an awful long time my father, who was Catholic from an early age but had let his church visits lapse, decided that he may also want to start attending the church services, even if he does not do this then it is a real testament to the community that he has even considered this idea. So to summarise if you are looking for a great place for coffee and cake and chat for slightly older people and to be really welcomed and feel comfortable then I cant recommend this place enough. I am not a member of any church but if you are looking to reignite a Christian lifestyle then I would recommend that you visit Geddes place if your current church or organisation feels stagnant or too businesslike. I think the Geddes Place United reformed Church really is a church that holds true Christian values and the way that they treat people with respect and open arms should be an example for all of the churches across the country.

They are a church, but they also do a lot of social events. Including coffee clubs and lunch clubs. All are welcome. The food there is spectacular.
