        We arrived in Chorleywood to find the restaurant we had booked was closed, but fortunately the Gate was 4 minutes away, and they were able to accommodate us despite being busy. A wide menu to choose from, delicious when the food arrived and a very helpful waitress. Many thanks from 3 travelers who had travelled from Suffolk, and Wiltshire to be together.

        A meal on a Sunday lunchtime with a group of friends, making a party size of 7 people. Service was first class with orders taken quickly. The main courses are large, well cooked and tasty. I had the bass filets, whihc were cooked to perfection. Most of us chose the apple cruble for dessert, which slowed the service down a little. Overall, a very good experience with prices that are very reasonable for the quality. Quite busy on a Sunday lunchtime, so booking is probably advisable

        I gave this pub 4 stars last time. Upgraded to 5 now. Really excellent food, good wine and a decent pint of Fullers. Service pleasant too.
