It is said that the head of Cromwell was retrieved by his daughters, the body was left in a ditch. Both daughters are buried, below ground level in a crypt in St Nicolas Church Chiswick, close to the River Thames. In the late 1880`s the Church was being renovated and an additional coffin was found with no name. The vicar fearing that it held the head of Cromwell, bricked up the entry point and further sealed it, not wanting it to become a visit for tourist or attended by anti Cromwell factions . Its still sealed to this day .
