Visited whilst in London as I had heard good things about the store and I have to say I had not been misinformed. Its lovely, well laid out shop with lots of beautiful items. The staff were very helpful and polite and I will definitely be going back.

Visited on Saturday and unfortunately did not have a good experience, I had my disabled son in his wheelchair and my sister had her 3 month old in a pram. I approached a step to further access the shop and browse but was stopped by the lady who worked there and told you wont fit through there, I obviously could as I wouldnt have tried, to me there looked like there was enough space. The lady then proceeded to say they dont allow prams and pushchairs through as its been risk assessed and is dangerous..I felt that if I had of tried to go further I would have been physically stopped. My opinion of the situation is that we were not welcome and she was worried my son would break something which he absolutely would not, he knows what a toy is and what isnt. My sister carried on browsing and everything she looked at was told we are not getting anymore as they dont sell well. We both felt very uncomfortable and it was obvious after having the door closed behind me that we were not welcome. As far as Im concerned and as a health professional working in a hospital , if you risk assess something as being a danger to you or a colleague you correct it you do not discriminate against disabled people or new mums and decide to make your premise non inclusive to these groups. Businesses have an obligation - both legal and moral - to make as their premises as accessible as they can for those with disabilities. This can include everything from providing wheelchair access for visitors to making specific provisions for those who may require them. But despite the Equality Act placing a duty on shops to make reasonable adjustments to ensure their services are accessible, wheelchair users are still being denied, so it seems at Louis Baron in Chislehurst.
