We had Paul a few years ago come and do our driveway from a recommendation. He quoted and then took ages to start. When he finally started the job took some time to be done. We were very pleased with the finish. We decided two month ago to have a patio done in our back garden. We are having a rear extension done in the next year or two so asked Paul to give us a quote for something nice but not expensive as we will be removing it in a couple of years time. He finally came and quoted we agreed a price and said we want this done in 2-3 weeks not 2-3 months!!! My husband had dug out the area during lockdown so it was ready to go. After chasing several times they came and started the job. We decided to widen the area a little bit extra so there was some further earth to move. Days and weeks go by a very little is done. Paul leaves what's looks like teenage boys on their own and of course not alot gets done. He turns up in the morning knowing we were home but as soon as we left for work he left also we know this as our next door neighbour is having a loft conversion done and we are using the company straight after they finished. They reported to us that the boys just sit around most of the day doing nothing. We have 4 dogs so we return to the house every lunch time at different times and when we came Paul was no where to be seen. After several moans and complaints we finally see some progress. The retaining walls were completed and the patio stones arrive. The patio is start s to be laid and then Paul decides to email us with a revised quote which doubled!!!!! We were horrified as we specifically said we wanted a cheap patio. Do what was around 5k went up to 10k. The digger they hired to remove the excess soil was supposed to be there one day and Paul kept it there not really being used for one week and then charged us for this. The extra area which wasn't doubled in size which was just a small area suddenly costs twice as much to do! We emailed Paul back asking for justification. We went through things methodically and added extras on more than we thought it should be but just to be reasonable we ended up offering around 8000-8500 which we thought was more than generous seeing the quotes was around 5000 to 5500. Paul declined and said he no longer wanted to do the job as there was bad blood and decided to not return. Appauling service. We will never recommend him to anyone. Stay clear if you want things done quickly and if you don't want to end up with a bill doubled in price!!!!!!

Came in promptly and provided a quote after explaining all the Garden work I needed done.I emailed again when I was ready, Paul visited again took measurements again, agreed to do some additional work too, gave a new quote and informed that he will start work in 3 weeks time. When I started enquiring closer to the date of the work on when he was starting work, he just emailed back saying he had got the quote/price wrong and could not do the work at that price. On asking what was the price he was ready, no further response was recieved. Just wasted 2 months time and not very impressed if somebody got a quote wrong despite 2 visits.
