Anne Blanchard Bridal Wear

I always knew I was no typical bride and the idea of finding a dress to me was quite daunting. I only visited a boutique once and knew it wasnt for me. I then went on the hunt for a dressmaker and designer who would help me make my quirky vision of a dress come true. Anne was someone that I had found from internet searches in my local area and I am so glad I did. Anne ticked all the boxes and having had some of her experience in the theatre industry too like myself I was sold on choosing her to make my wedding dress. I feel like I got to know Anne very well due to our wedding being postponed in 2020 because of the lockdown's so we had to re-book, and did so for another years time. This meant we had so much time to communicate and get things right. My conversations and fittings took place over a 2 year period so I really feel like Id got to know Anne over that time. Not only is she amazing at her craft but she is a lovely, kind and personable human being too which made the experience all the more lovely. From the numerous early conversations about the design of the dress to the actual fittings where she would always talk through the shape, fabrics, and details of the quirky ideas I had visualised. During the process of creating my dress she was kind enough to say yes to making 5 of my bridesmaids dresses and a waistcoat too. With everyone living in numerous different areas she made this work brilliantly with zoom calls for the measurements and then in person later on with the fittings. I would not hesitate on recommending Anne to anyone. She was the perfect choice for me personally as I wanted to create my own bespoke dress. She can make anything work for any bride whether its an alteration or a dress from scratch. She is an amazingly talented seamstress and creator and has such great creative vision which can make any brides ideas come alive from sketched designs to the finished product. Anne altered my wedding dress and was amazing. I had a different dress which had gone wrong with a different seamstress which meant I went to Anne with my new dress and a tight timescale before my wedding. Anne made several alterations to my dress, including pulling it in as it was over a size too big. Annes prices were reasonable and she worked quickly. Anne was nothing short of perfect throughout the whole process of my dress being made. I came to her at the start of 2022 with a simple drawing of the dress style I wanted, and Anne went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. She was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable during my fittings, and she had so many great ideas of small details to add to my dress to elevate the design. Her pricing was also very reasonable and I am 100% satisfied with how it turned out, my dress couldn't have been better. Anne refitted my wedding dress for me and did a wonderful job. I say refitted as it wasnt just a couple of alterations I got my dress (a Laure de Sagazan design) when I was only 9 weeks post partum and although I explained that was the case to the shop, they measured me up anyway and by the time it came to my wedding (a couple of years later due to covid) it really was huge on me!! My first fitting with Anne was hard because I felt so awful in what had been my dream dress. And a panel at the front has been missed out so it was totally see through excellent! Anyway, Anne totally turned it around for me and got me my dream dress back! she has to take the whole thing apart and remake it and Im just so glad I went with her as it could have been disastrous but she is simply brilliant and so professional. Anne is an amazing dream wedding dressmaker. I came to her with a dress I had bought online which was far too big in the bust. She not only painstakingly removed sequins and delicate stitching to make it fit perfectly but also added further beautiful details to make my dress beyond my wildest dreams. So many compliments on my dress. Thank you Anne x
