The Stiperstones Inn

We wanted to walk up the Stiperstones hill (small mountain?) on our last day in Shropshire and parked (with permission) at the Stiperstones Inn. We first wasted an hour on a low level walk. What we should have done was turn right from the pub then immediately right (left option past 2 cottages) and up to the top via 200 steps. We then had a pleasant walk to the 2 old cottages NE. Then, instead of traversing a tiny, crumbling, dangerous path across a steep slope we should have followed the bridleway to Shepherd's Rock and maybe Devil's Chair then back down to the pub the easy way. Anyway, after 3:20 of scrambling, climbing and walking we got back to the pub, a bit exhausted, where some customers had been wondering when to send out a search party for the old couple up the top! The staff were very friendly and the food and drink plentiful and good value. I had a big gammon steak, see pic. On the map pic the mauve is a waste of time, the peach decent routes we took, the cyan where we should have gone and the red dangerous.
