This hotel is disgusting. No other words can describe it. The place was getting renovated apparently so I let slide the fact I sat on a nail in the bar whilst waiting for housekeeping to finish our room. Didn't even look like then had started it. Dirty sheets which I changed myself.( housekeeping explained that the sheets are cleaned at a prison to keep costs down and they are returned in a poor standard which explained the inbedded snot in the pillowcases and the yellow stains on the duvet) when I changed the beds the quilts had holes in and were discoloured and dirty. The room was covered in cobwebs and the blinds didn't cover the sky light windows. If I was on holiday here I'd be so upset. Luckily we were just passing through and made do for the night. There is a beautiful pub/hotel called the fox down the street. Go there instead.

An interesting place!! Centre of town location is perfect and it has the potential to be a great hotel, but at the moment it is not. Much bigger than I expected, as the building goes a long back back. Appears to be a lot of renovation going on, and I couldnt find the temporary reception at first. Had to ask location of room twice as directions given were poor. Decor and furniture in room was very old and many fixtures and fitting broken, so urgently needs some TLC. Staying one night was ok and did its job as a bed for the night.
