I have had the opportunity to live and work all around the world and settled in the California Bay Area (Silicon Valley). My journey all started here when it was called Chippenham Technical College. I am forever thankful to my tutor, Viv Sherman, and all the other professors who helped me raise my potential. When you find yourself flipping burgers or serving tea thinking "this is not for me", you can do yourself a favor by starting here on your journey.

I would not really suggest this college to people if they asked me if they wanted to go to that college as some off the staff are very rude and not helpful if you need the help you need. And they always blame you for things that you have not done. And there well-being team is not that good

My posting is in response to a interview I attended last year. The reason for posting isn't down to sour grapes as the saying goes. But my experience in the recruitment process. Firstly I have lot's of experience in the position I applied for and answered every question, drawing on my experience and skills. I also applied under the disability confidentl process as well. There we're 3 on the panel and I can remember the hiring manager referring on more than one occasion on my long unemployment record. I tried explaining about my health condition and have used my non working record with lot's of volunteering. I'm now work ready. Unfortunately the manager didn't respond to my request for constructive feedback. So my point's are as follows any organisation can talk about being a disability confident employer. But in my experience WC need to put word's into action. I told the Job centre about this negative experience. Unfortunately many organisations may have good intentions and policies around recruitment. But there's nothing stopping a particular manager from not wanting you on numerous ground's including the long term unemployed.
