Just a gorgeous campsite! Have been there every year now for the last 8 years with a big group of families and the kids. The kids have so much fun there playing in the woods and in the river. The owners are friendly and accomodating and it's brilliant being able to have fires next to the tents. Highly RECOMMENDED! UPDATE JUNE 2022 - EVEN BETTER!

Merrylands is by far our favourite campsite. The location is stunning, and a stark contrast to many campsites of tents lined up around a field. You feel completely submerged in nature. The owners are lovely people with a passion for the land. The site is eco-friendly with composting toilets and theres a choice of two great pubs a beautiful countryside walk away (and not too far for the kids to walk). Our children disappear into the wild places. Theres a secret trickling stream that runs parallel to the site for the older kids and lots of hidden spots just out of site and away from the stream for the younger ones to safely play. A magical place Id highly recommend visiting.

Avoid if its been raining!!!! The entrance field turns into a complete mud bath with every car slipping, sliding and getting stuck, needing to be pushed or recovered! Not the way to start or end a trip! The owners stood by and watched whilst thankfully we had help from other campers. Eco would also suggest at one with the environment, instead we were told to empty buckets of urine into the hedgerow and fires were directly onto the ground. Far from 'eco' and the mud ruined the weekend. Informed it was not a one off due to the weather, the local pub reported similar stories from previous campers.
