Nice pub. Good food, on the whole would visit again. The service started well. A minor mistake was quickly rectified, not an issue in the slightest. However, we were kind of left and forgotten. No check backs. No drinks follow ups. In the end we had to request to order desserts and once we had half finished our coffee, had to chase desserts too. One dessert ordered was pistachio crme brle, however an Amaretto crme brle arrived (tasted of almonds/marzipan), it definitely wasnt pistachio. We ate half and left it, just advising the waiting staff on the way out (so the chefs knew). Later looking on the website we could see the old menu was Amaretto, hence the muddle up. The main issue is the size of the napkins. TINY!! The Illy coffee napkins provided were bigger than the restaurant napkins! Given the price point of the menu, youd expect to be able to at least cover your lap when dining. This was not an option. And although we understand being eco conscious is important, the size and quality of the 1ply tissues meant we used far more than you would with the 1 normal size napkin in a regular restaurant. This is false economy and weve noticed its a trend across the group. The minor issues aside, the food was great. Well prepared, fresh and tasty. The prawn nachos were very tight on prawns (3 between 2 people sharing). The lamb kofte kebabs (in our opinion) were by far the best starters. Delicious!

Had a Sunday roast here today with my girlfriend and didnt feel that welcomed by staff, more as though we had inconvenienced them. We had bread with oil and halloumi to start, the bread was nice but the halloumi was dry and cold. I was hoping the main a beef roast would save the day but it did not, watery gravy, soggy veg, one and a half small potatoes, two paper thin slices of beef.. deflated Yorkshire putting very expensive for what you actually get. Bread with oil, halloumi sticks, two beef roasts, a pint of peroni and a glass of Prosecco and a pint of Pepsi came too 76 with the service charge which I think should be optional as I didnt feel a 12% tip was justified from my experience today. I wont be returning to the Gunn, many better options such as the white hart.
