My room was very cramped and noisy, with a metal staircase right behind my headboard. Room keys regularly not working. The breakfast is shockingly bad for a hotel of this class. The reception staff were lovely however the main problem is the terrible organisation of their wedding service. Many aspects of my son's special day were compromised or spoiled from a sub-standard main dish at the reception, a bullying and unhelpful toastmaster, ceremony and reception rooms not being ready, staff not available or willing to fix issues, cake not served till 11pm, bolshy and rude DJ.... I could go on. Very disappointing indeed.

Room was fine. Toilet was a bit broken. The road going round to our room was bad with holes. All of the staff seemed like they didnt want to be there. Dinner service was poor. Not really any leadership around for the young girls - they were doing their best but far more training is needed for table service. A few around us also complained. Sauna was broken, showers were broken. Swimming pool felt grainy/Sandy when standing on the floor. Great location, nice and peaceful. Just needs some TLC across the board.

Booked two nights B&B here last week. The Old original building is stunning with views over the lake and lawns. Sadly we were very disappointed with room 19 in the old coach house. It was around the back and very dark, with no view accept over a dirty yard and looking at a huge Lorry container unit. The shower room was very cold as no heating or heated towel rail. No hair dryer. The evening meal was a concern as the waitress did not understand my coeliac (gluten free) request. The chef however did make my meal gluten free. The staff really do need to have more service training. At breakfast the 3 waitress,s were just stood around and not clearing tables. I had to ask for 2 cereal bowls as they had not been put out, and again asked for two large plates for the hot buffet , and side plates. Coffee was an issue as machine was broken. We did not eat there on the second evening of our stay as the service was not what we expected in this hotel. We are not a couple that would normally complain or write a bad report and hope this was just a blip.

I had issues about the food in our afternoon tea (my mother was intolerant to fish) and I requested prior that we do not get served fish. The request clearly wasnt communicated as we were given fish and my mum couldnt eat the sandwiches as they were touching. I emailed privately back in March to inform Lythe hill however I have not received a response. The spa was ok and the staff I met on the day were pleasant however the customer service is disappointing as I would have expected a response after this time.
