Adoption Connects - Adoption Agency for Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes

I had today initial discussion, the social worker was lovely. She answered to all our questions.

I hate having to write this review but unfortunately Adoption Connects is a pretty awful adoption agency. Now don't get me wrong there are some really good people in this organisation which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 but there are a lot of incompetent people too. I list below some of the issues I had before changing agencies: - Very slow communication. They blamed the pandemic up to April this year. Most businesses have adapted by now but AC (even though they use MS Teams etc already) struggled. Perhaps this was down to management not giving staff enough training? - Then there are the numerous mistakes in pretty much every email you receive... wrong dates, incorrect explanations for filling forms, training sessions which you can not book onto and more. - One of my favourites is when I received an email telling me off for providing an incorrect email address for a reference. I checked the email address was live and it was. Turns out the AC had mistyped it! - September last year I attended an online 3 day course. All started well - Cathy (one of the presenters) was fantastic. Day 3 came and the AC big boss came to chat to us. Wow I have never heard so much swearing. I had my 4 year old in the room with me and had to quickly turn the volume down. Disgusting language from the boss especially at an adoption agency. - The final straw was flexibility. My social worker was lovely to chat to but she was completely unhelpful with reasonable times for meetings. She would only work between the hours of 9am to 3pm and would not do lunch breaks. I have spoken to others going through the process and they have experienced similar. For a single mum with a child you think there would be some flexibility. I would avoid at all costs. I have now gone with an alternative agency and they are fantastic. Feels like they actually care about getting their kids into a loving home.
