My 'one' star is dedicated to the staff who showed my mother care and kindness. I thank you deeply, you were doing a hard job, in your heart you know who you are and are worth more. You were stars. Most have moved on now. However, i can not dedicate more. I strongly advise you look deep into what you require as care for your loved one as our 3 years here held myself witness to unprofessional behaviour, hygiene, safety and leadership problems. I had to report to CQC the fact i was given no true communication before my dementia suffering mother had 36 hours notice before being moved (with no choice) because 'violent' outburst were not for them anymore. They requested this without telling us days before. We were told by a 3rd party. Yet her new home has seen no evidence. She is now happy. Urine soaked duvets and mattress are a thing of the past. Too many agency staff knowing little of situations placing heavy stress on other overwork staff. Families left alone with residents in day room for long periods. Unable to find staff when incident happened. I could list more. My mother is a former nurse herself, she is now calm and relaxed and her dementia correctly managed. My advise is to observe and ask a lot of questions if here is your choice. I did raise complaints and i spoke in depth with both CQC and senior management so future families did not have the same experiences. Not suitable for any advancing dementia in my opinion. Little changed in the 3 years, i hope it does for you! *please be aware that a number of 5 star reviews here were members of staff.
