I worked for CRL through an agency, I was hired as a labourer on a bridge repair job in helsby Cheshire . They expected myself and site Forman to do the work of a concrete repairer who was on quite a lot more money than ourselves when he never turned into work . Over a 6 week period myself and the 2 site Forman did 90% of the grinding/ saw cutting/ breaking/ mixing & pouring. After 6 weeks I had enough spoke to my agency and ask to see if I could be paid an extra 1ph more if I was doing the work of the concrete repairer. The agency where told to tell me that I will not be paid more as I was only doing grinding work . The manager who told the agency was never on the site much so she wouldnt know what work I was doing . The grinding work I was doing was concrete finishing work to make the quality of work that had been produced more presentable. Met some good people on this job though who do work for CRL . The 3 site Forman I worked with in the 5 months I was here where brilliant guys good laugh and hard working men 2 of them aged 50-65. The fork lift driver was a brilliant guy also and drastically underpaid for the work he did . Management is a shambles and just wants to pass the book/ blame onto other departments. . Would love to see some of the people I worked with under better circumstances but would probably never go and with for CRL again .
