Matt is a very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guy. I chatted with with him at length regarding a new bridge pickup for my Fender Player Telecaster that I wanted to still have punch but be a little softer in the top end. He was great and suggested several options and variations. In the end we settled on a custom picup with an Alnico 2 magnet, wound to 9.5K with 42 awg wire which (quote) "which will give a fuller, faster tone across most all the frequencies". All I can say is Matt was spot on. This pickup retains all the great Tele bridge character but tames the high end perfectly. Matt also fitted a 3rd wire to cover potential phase issues with the existing neck pickup (which was actually needed so a really useful addition!). I haven't tried any of his stock pickups, bit my experience with this custom wind was stellar so he will be at the top of my list going forward, and I'm supporting a local business to boot.
