I called the Chester store today 29th April 23 to enquire if they stocked Draper motorcycle scissor life, I was told yes had one on stock and the price was 107, I agreed to this, I said I would travel to the store for the item, when I arrived to pay and collect the item it was waiting for me and despite a price label of 107 I was told the item was 143. Now under the sale of good act this is breach of the contract. I price was quoted over the phone which I accepted, this is the key point here When a trader displays or advertises goods (for example, by displaying them on a shelf in a shop alongside a price ticket) they are usually giving consumers what is referred to as an 'invitation to treat'. The consumer can then make an offer to buy the goods. At this point the trader is under no obligation to accept the offer; a contract is made if and when the trader accepts. Sometimes, the process works the other way round - that is, the trader makes an offer to the consumer and a contract is made when the consumer accepts the offer, in my case this was the contract, by quoting the price over the phone and I accepted this the trader entered in to a contract with me. When I challenged this I was told that 107 was not the price and it was 143, the store operator then begun serving another customer. I was very disappointed with the service and the breach of the offer made between the supplier and the customer (me) This is a clear breach of the sales of good act and the invitation to treat. Comments and feedback welcome.

Bought a rather beautiful log burner from here. Service was great in store, although issues with delivery and being charged the next day are waiting then a week.

Great selection and stock of a wide variety of engineering bits and bobs at good prices. I've bought a few things from the Clarke range and it's held up well. Their systems need a refresh though as they are still individually labelling things so you often find the price at the till is different to the sticker as the guys can't keep on top of the price changes.
