A wonderful farm that I have visited a few times over the years and have recently really enjoyed staying in a bell tent at The Orchard. This is a private back to basics campsite for 2 in the heart of Dorset. They are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and try to reduce their impact on the natural world around as much as possible. If you like unplugging and getting back to nature then this is the option for you. It is not advertised as a glamping site but Charlotte has tried to make it as comfortable and relaxing an experience as possible. You will need a car to make the most of this area as there are no buses in the area. The site is nestled in the orchard behind the house, it is a secluded and quiet spot with a stream, known as the Devils brook, running past the tent. The site consists of a fully kitted out bell tent for 2 people complete with beds, bedding, all kitchen utensils, a woodburning stove for colder nights, arm chairs and blankets. Outside there is a compost loo, sink and outdoor shower that produces hot water. They also have a table, chairs and fire pit for you to while away the hours in the evenings. The site is 75 a night. I would highly recommend staying here as it is great value for money, very peaceful and Charlotte is very welcoming and accommodating with fantastic local tips of where to explore (coastal walks, beautiful beaches etc), where eat and taste wine!
