Tommy's Piano Studio

Tommy is an extremely professional and knowledgeable teacher of piano. He is pleasant, friendly and very patient when you're struggling to get things right. He is an expert judge at when to stand back and let you achieve by yourself, and when an example or playing alongside you will help you to get your head around an issue. I came to Tommy having spent some time learning on apps and the feedback, support and critical analysis he provides has made for a far better learning experience.

Tommy has given my daughter confidence and taken her from absolute beginnings, where she could not even read notes to now starting to play rather confidently. Whats more, she enjoys Tommys lessons - they are the perfect combination of fun and professional, tailored to a 7yo.

Tommy is an exceptionally talented musician who has the ability to explain what he is doing, and also how someone else can achieve the same results; if you don't understand a concept Tommy will explain it several different ways until he finds an approach you can relate to. He has knowledge in incredible depth and breadth of musical styles and techniques, and just when you think he has exhausted an explanation to any question posed, he will add 'and another thing..' if you want him to. I had been playing a long time, but not had had a lesson for almost 40 years, when I came across Tommy and started zoom sessions during lockdown; I now look forward to each and every lesson and the new insights it will bring.

I am an adult who has a long time interest in piano, but no training. Tommy accepted me as a beginner student, and his approach to teaching meshed extremely well with my adult learning style and needs. Tommys competence at teaching is only outdone by his sheer talent as a pianist. Highly recommend Tommys classes.
